Reed Indentification;

OK, got down to pulling the reed cage out of my 00 220 33mm carb'd bike. I can not identify what reeds I have. I am speculating they are 607's, but not entirely sure. It has 6 petals, that are a medium cream color, however I see several references to the 607's that they are 4 petals. Any rate, did a fair amount of research via the net and have conflicting data and could use some verification please.

I tried looking up reference photos of the stockers and 607's and wow, virtually nothing anywhere. With all the references from RB Designs of a 607 replacement reeds, I was anticipating more photos, came up somewhat empty, or at least conflicting. I am trying to mine down to my problem of a sputtering bottom end. BTW, it appears I do have the original reed cage with the limiters in case that helps.

Many Thanks in Advance !!!

Michael

Both he stockers and the 607s are 6 petal reeds. What made you suspect that they may be aftermarket? The second one is the stock set.

Thanks bufftester,

I was speculating due to my lean carb settings of a #35 pilot and clip at highest clip setting, that I would have had the 607's.

It appears I have the stock set up due having the metal cage limiter.

From what I have read, the 607's eliminate the metal cage limiter and have a set of fiber limiters, that's what I was speculating was in photo #1.

When I got the bike I got very little data on it's history, other than it's visual hop up parts and that the original owner supposedly swapped in a WiseCo piston, so trying to build a history. I am also trying to eliminate a rich part of my 1/8 to 1/4 of my power band. The reeds in there now look fine, no gaps, no cracking, no warping, so speculating if put in some 607's then perhaps that will help me on my quest to eliminate this issue.

Thx !!!

Michael
