And also in performance wise is there any power difference in the engine of the 89 kdx and say a 2006 kdx200 or do the newer engine still have the same power, speed and acceleration of the 89 model kdx200.

Well ofcorse there is newer technology near todays days than in the past that enable higher preformance of any piece of machinery.

Same motor w/some minor updates, like the KiPS valve assembly and the water pump seals. I think my 94 (same as the 89) is a little faster than my 95 (same as the 06). Not sure why though.
