I just filled it up on both sides when I rebuilt mine, or enough to the point where oil will spill out when installing the bladder and shock body

My '89 has no rear shock...it's just spring. Have no idea where to start with repairing it

Per my service manual (this is prior to reinserting the bladder):
"Pour KYB K2-C (SAE 5w or Belray SE2 #40 ) oil into the gas reservoir to 60-70mm from the gas reservoir upper end."

From my manual:

-Adjust the gas reservoir damping adjuster to the softest position.
-Install the air bleeder bolt.
*Check the O-ring on the air bleeder bolt, and replace it if necessary
-Pour KYB K2-C(SAE 5W or Bel-Ray SE2 #40) oil into the gas reservoir to 60-70mm from the gas resservoir upper end.

Once you get it down pat, about 1/3 liter. The first time, it will be handy to have the whole liter. After a couple of tries, you can get by with half a liter bottle.
