How to tell if I'm too lean?

I've recently installed Boyesen power reeds in my 92 kdx 250 and researched a lot about jetting. The bike es running line a champ with 155 and 38 jets with my needle clip on the second notch from the top and the air screw 1 1/2 turns out. Everything seems to be perfect and working better than ever, which gives me great pause for concern. How can I tell if I'm too lean? The throttle is crisp and clean, there is no bog or hesitation , no audible ping, so how can I tell if its too lean before I kill the top end ?

what other mods are you running?

Look at the insulator of the plug. White is lean, brown is correct, black is rich, black and oily is common.

A typical plug chop can help you to determine just the main.

Also, look up "lean bog".

Thanks going to grab some plugs today to do the plug chop. It's pretty much stock other than the reeds. I'm just a worrier
