Hello everyone.

I recently bought a new to me 2001 KDX220.

First, the bike:

2001 KDX 220R with just about every mod you can think of.

2005 KX125 USD front fork.
Suspension custom sprung and revalved by DEVOL racing.
New carburetor from RB designs
with custom bore and modification that makes the KDX really sing!
Head milled by RB designs.
Boyesen reeds.
Fresh top end with wiseco piston and replated cylinder.
Tubliss tire system front and rear. New tires front and rear.
Revloc Dynaring.
FMF gnarly woods pipe.
FMF Q-stealth silencer/spark arrestor.
So I'm a born again rider. I used to ride in my teens about 20 years ago. I'm wanting to add a Trail Tech Voyager for the GPS and gauges while woods riding. I'm not sure which one to order though. Should I order the one that's correct for the forks or for the bike?

912-500

Also, I'm considering a pressure suit. Anyone run a EVS G6 Ballistic Jersey?

I have thought about the same thing and decided that the part of the bike that makes the difference is for the temperature sensor that fits into the radiator hose and that part is the same size for both bikes. The part that goes on the forks would be the speed pickup part and that is more likely to be different between the two forks. So I would get the set up for the forks. But I could be wrong also. I would think that if you called trail tech they may be able to tell you what the difference would be between the two kits. They may even be willing to make a "custom" kit for you, if there is even a difference.

Nice looking bike.

You should route the front brake line correctly before you go riding.

What difference does it make if the brake line is routed this way

Or this way?

He was saying to put the brake line on the inside of the fork tube not on the out side. If it is on the outside you are MUCH more likely to get it caught on something when riding. Might just rip the line off or it could catch and yank the bars out of your hands sending you off into the bushes alone, with the bike chasing you down to run you over. But it is your bike to do what you please with.

For that style forks, run it like this:

Look around the site. There are several guys who have re-routed the brake hose and have pictures of how they made a little bracket for the fork guard.

The KX250shown is 2003. That is 2003 style KX routing. Typical KDX routing is similar to 2004 and newer KX routing. Honda held a patent on that style of routing somehow causing other manufacturers to have to run it differently, from what I have read several times over the years.

NICE BIKE!!

Thanks for the advice.

My plan is to get the fluids changed on my next day off.

I received an email response from TrailTech.
You will want to use the 912-500 kit, but you will need the 300-01 magnet kit most likely. If you call us to order the kit we can include the magnet kit at no charge. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

So for future reference, that's what it takes for a bike setup like mine.
