Hi all. Does anybody know much about the powervalve on the 250sr model. Mine works but sticks open. It was ok until I changed the seals in the water pump. When it sticks it cam be pushed back by hand but sticks open again. Any ideas? Thanks all and happy new year.

Sounds like you have a stripped piece. Time to service the KIPS and find out what is wrong.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know where I can get any info or pics of how the powervalve is set up? I can only find info on the non sr version which is very different

Type cmsl on google and look at the blueprints there.You can also look through the exhaust port and see them on the insided of the ports.I know that you can take them out and blank then off as well transition to power just not as smooth then.Let me know.Otherwise I can send you a pic,just don't know how to upload.

Hi, don't know about the 250 but in the 200 engine the removal of the outer clutch case is needed if so in the 250 check that the governor of the power valve is in place. Look for the service manual for the proper installation instructions

You only need to remove the barrel on the Sr model to get to the Kips.
