200 more kips rattle than 220?

Is the Kips rattle generally louder on a 200 compared to a 220? Took my wifes 200 out for a little spin and noticed how much louder it is than both of my 220's. Not sure if the stock pipe and silencer hides all of the other noise so it stands out more. Has a fresh top end, clean kips. Any thoughts?

I think the kips rattles louder after you clean it. mine did. No carbon on the parts to dampen the sound.

does the 200 have a skid plate and the 220 not?
a skid plate will reflect any noise from the bottom on the engine up to the rider

Yes, for some reason the 200 rattles more than the 220. I have both and still can't figure out why....LOL..
Both have recently rebuilt top-ends, both are low-time engines with no discernable wear in the kips actuating system...
My previous 220 had a lot of time on it, yet it was pretty quiet too - compared to a 200.

Thanks, thought it was just the particular bike. So quiet compared to my 220's the guys I ride with swore it was piston slap. Hard to explain the Kips sound to a bunch of pumpkin riders.

I agree with 'gumby
I had a couple of 220s and when I picked up a 200, I thought it was a lot noisier.
