Don't you just love the "cruiser" bars?I'm 6'2" and I have to put my arms over my shoulders to push it as it sits

See plastic welding and polishing in my future.

On to the engine



Cylinder,head and piston look OK but.........

The crank not so much.I got it to move yesterday so maybe I can save it But I'm thinking not.


All the clutch side case looks good.

The flywheel side not so good.The allen bolt in the flywheel looks stripped,wonderful.Got to get a proper flywheel puller I already learned here.Don't have a sprocket cover either,second dirt bike it's gone from


Carb is going into a stinky Kleen-Flo bath.
Will need to find an airbox as it didn't come with one,looks like that might be a PITA to find to

holy cow! what swamp did that poor bike come out of? it looks like it has moss growing on it. whats the backstory? where did you rescue it from and how much did the guy pay you to take it?

Moss will grow on everything here on the wet coast.The PO before me bought it as a project,partly disassembled.Got offered a better bike so unloaded this to me for a paltry $75..I love bringing dead bike back to life and this will be ...............interesting.BTW where are the cams and valves

gotta love the 2 stroke. no cams or valves, cheaper to work on. BTW great job on the suzuki build you did, the yellow turned out very nice.

They are a fun and comfrotable bike.
Somebody added a flywheel weight to yours. Once you get that off, you can use a steering wheel puller.
I have some parts from an '87 I took apart if you have trouble finding stuff.

OK that's what that is.Hope it's not real tight as the allen screw holding it on looks stripped.Please tell me you have an air box Not enough posts to PM you so if you email me at snooksdad@gmail.com I would appreciate it.Pretty sure there's more stuff I'll need as I go along.

Carb wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.The float set up.................well I never seen it done that way.Kinda cool,how do you get the floats out? Yeah I really need a manual.Broke the needle

Need a needle not a whole carb.Found the Mikuni needles that site.Short of doing a bunch of measuring I'll probably mess up can anyone tell me if one of the 5FL's listed is close to the 5FL52 I have here.

then you need two different boots. At 25 years old, not too easy to find.

Budget here doesn't include a new carb.Starting to think I shoulda walked.

OK I was feeling........ overwhelmed this morning^^^.Then I remembered the really cool shop out here in Sooke.I'm guessing they can help with the needle.Even if they can't I wanna visit

So I hear on other sites Ihave this bike posted that these are better than stock.

I'm sure these will improve perfomance

Bah,it'll just buff out Seriously it is a chunk of work to be sure but I love bringing the old "dead" bikes back to life.On the update note the local shop didn't have the carb needle,well yeah he did but he sold it 3ish years ago
