xr springs in kdx

I had to do fork seals in my 2k 200,and decided to pick up a pair of XR springs to get the front end a little stiffer for me.

The springs are about 4 inches longer than the stock springs.

Do I just use spring and no spacer or what?

I used enough spacer to get 10 mm of preload, you will like the stiffer springs.

the XR springs I have are a little longer though than the kdx spring and spacer combined.

can i just run the spring by itself or do i need to have some spacer? I am not sure i will be able to get the cap on with too much spacer......lol

the springs are from a 650l i believe they are .45 or .46

Guess the 650 springs are longer, then? I would want a washer or something between the spring and the cap, in the event that you can not fit a spacer in there. With just the spring, how much pre-load is present?

Not sure how to determine preload.

put the springs in, then the spacers, then set the fork cap on top. How many millimeters does the bottom edge of the fork cap set from the top of the fork tube? That is your preload. Shoot for no more than 10mm, preferably less in modern thinking.
