Stud removal. Any Tips?

I need to remove the studs from the cylinder on my brothers 88 KDX. Man are they ever tight! I have had them soaking with a penetrating oil called Aero Kroil. I used it with good success when working on aircraft.

I was able to get one stud out by the double nut method. No luck on the others, it felt like the threads were about to go. I tried vise grips on one other but it is just going to tear up the studs.

Maybe heat next? Any other good penetrating oils to use??

Thanks

David

Smack the studs with a copper hammer, give them several hard hits and support the cylinder with the base gasket surface well supported on wooden blocks

The shock on the studs will help break the thread loose.
