First of all, sorry for all the questions lately. It's just that this site has so many knowledgible people on it. Now, on the my next questions. Is it OK to clean the cylinder by dropping into a degreaser(like the old Castrol Super Clean)? The reason is, that the KIPS resonator and under the exhaust port are so coated in spooge that carb cleaner would not even remove it. Also, do you have a favorite degreaser?

I am quite fond of LA's Totally Awesome, which can be purchased at the dollar store. Yes, dipping the cylinder is OK, as long as whatever degreaser you choose is safe for aluminum.

Oven cleaner cuts through carbon pretty good.

Oh yeah, I knew that Super Clean will etch aluminium, what I meant was a Super Clean type of cleaner. Oven cleaner, wouldn't that also be harsh on aluminium? Would something like Simple Green work?

Simple Green works ok but will turn the aluminum dull.

Wound up finding a citrus cleaner/degreaser at the dollar store. I was surprised by how well it worked. A little scrubbing with a tooth brush and the inside of the KIPS cover is nice and clean.
