Hi guys,
I'm in the process of rebuilding an 87, and wonder if anyone who has a C model has tried any rear mx fenders for it?
The frame setup looks like it would handle just about anything, so if someone has tried one that looks good, that would be great info.

I'm putting USD's and a rear disk brake on this bike - I think it will make a great, light woods bike - I'm curious to see how a modified C model compares to the newer stuff.

A UFO rear fender for a 1987 KX 250 will work. I think you will have to drill holes in the sides where the subframe on the KDX goes into the rear fender. You also might have to drill a hole if the bolt for your muffler/silencer hits. But, there is no cutting. When I get home I will look more closely and put up a pic.

You will have to drill two holes in the left/right sides of the fender where the subframe is. Also, drill an additional two holes in the right side where the muffler mounts. Front two holes under the fender line up for the KDX 200 and KX 250. Also a little cutting on back muffler mount.

That fits pretty good...I'll order one.

I tried to find a part number stamped on the fender, but it just has 'UFO' and the date manufactured stamped into it. But I think it is part number KA02701-026. It is a rear fender for a 87 KX 125/250/500.

That is a universal UFO fender, not the '87 KX rear fender. Take a look on the internet and you will see the different lines of an '87 fender. Some cutting IS required for an '87 KX fender, but it looks pretty good. I did it to mine about 10 years ago just as as test fit.

Well, I ordered an 87 fender...we'll see how it looks.
