Hello everybody Im new to the forum...

I just bought my first bike and it was being sold as a 1984 kx175 but i couldnt find any information about such bike so i checked the VIN and the bike appears to be a 1982 kdx175. I was able to find most of the parts i need but Im still looking for throttle/grip assy. Now my question is, can i just use any kawasaki throttle/grip assy or how do i know if some universal works. I was first wanting to completely restore the bike but now i just wanna get it running for the season and restore with original parts off season..

Any help on the matter is much appreciated.

You should be able to adapt a later model Kawasaki throttle assembly pretty easy. Try to reuse your existing cable if possible.

Hi. Welcome to the forums. The KDX175 was made from 1980 - 1982.

Are you in the USA? If so, I may have a spare, used, 1982 KDX175 throttle housing I could sell. I know I have a 1981 and 1982 KDX175 I want to part out. If you can not send and receive a PM (Personal Message), then my e-mail address is: administrator at kdxgarage dot com. Thank you.

That is pretty funny. I can not count how many times I have stayed up "past my bedtime" looking for parts or reading about bikes.

That is good on the USA address. I'll keep checking my e-mail.

Thanks,
Jason
