Is it worth it to buy the Maier rear fender or could i get a kx rear fender for half the price and get the same looks out of it?

The Maier is a plug and play unit. Take the old fender off - install new fender - done. That is what I have. Don't have any experience with the KX fender, but I assume there would need to be some fabrication.

The KX rear fender is a completly different fender from the Maier rear fender. However, I think I had to do a lilttle trimming to get my Maier to fit well.

BTW, the stock KX front fender is nearly identical to the KDX front fender (the KX of the late 1990's anyway). The only differance is the bracket for the odo cable.

Any front fender will work. I run an /04 KX fender on mine. The Maier is a nice unit. Mine fit great with no trimming.

Yeah, the KX500 rear fender will fit but it's not an exact match. You may have to add a bracket or use some zip ties.
