Kdx grind

Just wondering, if anyone would know what happened.
Kdx was running great, then it stalled hard, kick starter stuck till I put in high gear and pushed it real hard a few times, then starter rotates and runs shifts fine but it makes a quite grindy whine.

Nothing good.
I would start by draining the oil and see what is in there. Maybe pull the right side cover and take a peek.

Nothing in the oil, swept it with a magnet and came out clean. Nothing looks bad. Is there a bearing on the kick starter? If anyone has a link to a schematic for the basket gear box that may help. Thanks.

I'd have a look at the piston, cylinder, rod bearings, and crank bearings.

I agree. The starter wouldn't make it lock up. Piston or bearing seizure maybe.
