Hi there, I have a '89 e series KDX 200 with a badly worn cylinder. I can get it replated if I send it to Montreal, $282 said and done. But I also found one locally that's in excellent shape. The tolerance is bang on. You'ld swear it was just plated, or never used for that matter.
So, mine is the 89 model (E-1). My question is, can I also use the 1990 model or newer cylinder and/or head? The one I was looking at says E-3 on it so I'm assuming it's from a 1991 model. Any help?

Yes, all E series heads and cylinders interchange. The only difference between the E series engines is that the '90 and up got two water pump seals instead of one which the '89 had.

I'll second that, if you need a second opinion. 89-94, all interchangeable.
