WER steering damper on KX125 conversion

Similar to the thread going on about a GPR damper, I am wondering about mounting a WER steering damper when I convert my H series to '01 KX125 forks.
I don't think it will be a problem because the frame bracket should not be affected. I expect the damper will bolt up to the bottom of the triple in the same way. I have a newer KX front fender on my bike, and it bolted right up. I hope the 2001 KX fender/damper mounting bolt pattern will be the same as the newer fender. My main concern is that the bigger fork tubes will create some kind of interference.
Has anyone done this? Am I headed for issues mounting this damper with stouter forks on my KDX? Here are some pics of the damper and the way it mounts. Thanks.
