i often read about things pertaining to E and H bikes... what's the difference between E and H series? is that a suffix? like KDX220H?

mine is an A8...

what's this all about?

H series are from 95 to 07 (200 and 220)
E series are pre 95, can't recall how far back they go.
An A8 might be before the e serie. Is that air cooled?
post pics that'll help.
The e has a bit more grunt compared to the H, they are know to brake subvalve but there is a fix for it, do a search you'll find it.

E series was 89 - 94 kdx200. Single downtube frame

H series KDX200 - 95+. perimeter framed

The KDX220 was introduced in 97 and is also an H series bike

There are also A, B, and C models. most of these are older aircooled models including 175/200/250/400/450 and 420 models.

I dont know of an A8 model.

An "A8" would be an H series KDX, a 2001 KDX220 to be exact, by the info shown on KDXGarage's website.

The E and H are just series designations that Kawasaki gave to them. The exact reason behind them is not known by me.

Like juliend say E and H are for kdx 200 bikes, the 220 was a "new bike" based on the kdx 200 H...
KDX220A8 are the 8th version of the KDX220 ..
