I love jumping my KDX. It's a lot of fun but I do have KX forks in the front. I have jumped higher than the following pic by maybe a foot or two and it is a blast! I really wouldn't want to jump it any higher on to a flat landing as I had it re-valved for Hare Scrambles and not MX. I think it would be fine doing large table tops and even non-SX doubles.

So what is the limiting factor: conventional forks, shock and/or frame.

I would assume if you swapped KX forks the front end would be fine for bigger jumps.

How does the shock compare to KX shocks. I know they both have compression and rebound adjustments; however, I assume the similarity ends there. Is the internal valving that different?

And what about the frame. It seems as though the KDX frame is more stout than the KX frame. Does this seem true?

the limiting factor is in the suspension department especially the stock front end, that's why most of us convert to kx usd. the rear shock is ok stock depending on your weight and / or skills. It works really well when revalved.
