FMF Powercore silencer/spark arrestor. Son is going to ride some trails in a state park. I see that state parks require spark arrestors. My question is...does anyone no for a fact that the FMF Powercore silencer/spark arrestor is allowed?

It should be permanently stamped on the silencer. If not, contact FMF and ask them.

FMF Powercore is not a spark arrestor, but Turbinecore and Q silencers are.

If what factoryX is the case then you will need to either use an add-on spark arrestor like the Cobra Sparky or get a different silencer.

That sounds about right. I have the Turbinecore and it has the forestry approved stamp on it. If I had to buy one again I would look into the Q.

P.S. FactoryX, It looks like you need new reeds from the pic in your post's.

I thought so to. However, a quick google shows that the powercore is a forest service approved SA.

certain 4 stroke power cores are S/A or you can buy screen for them, but I am 99% sure power core 1 and 2 are not as I have used both.

If you click on the silencers they will tell you whats included.

As for the reeds

That clears it up, thanks :)

I was a bit confused, as I always thought the powercore was a straight through deal, and turbinecore was a SA.

You're not the only one, when I was looking for S/A people kept tying to sell me their power core silencers, and when I pointed out they weren't S/A they would continue to tell me that they have been using it for years with no problems...
