Going to look at a '95... any red flags to look for?

I'm taking a ride to look at a '95 KDX200 tomorrow. The fellow selling it was considerate enough to send me pictures and things look pretty good.
Are there any particular things I should pay attention to? My '84 was neither water cooled, nor did it have a KPS valve, so the personality of this bike should be quite different.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Pretty much just the normal stuff on any bike. 95 was the first year of the H model, might be worth checking the vin to make sure it is what year they say it is.

Is the "H" series good or bad?

The H is the 95-06, the last model made. As far as which is better is going to depend on who you ask.
I have an H and am very happy with it. I have also never rode an E (89-94) so I can't say any thing good or bad about them.
Probably the worst part about the E is the KIPS valve seems to be somewhat of a weak point and from what I have seen on here the parts can be harder to obtain than the H parts.
Checking the vin is just so you know what your getting before its home. The 10th digit will tell you the year.
A = 1980 L = 1990 Y = 2000 A = 2010
B = 1981 M = 1991 1 = 2001 B = 2011
C = 1982 N = 1992 2 = 2002 C = 2012
D = 1983 P = 1993 3 = 2003 D = 2013
E = 1984 R = 1994 4 = 2004 E = 2014
F = 1985 S = 1995 5 = 2005 F = 2015
G = 1986 T = 1996 6 = 2006 G = 2016
H = 1987 V = 1997 7 = 2007 H = 2017
J = 1988 W = 1998 8 = 2008 J = 2018
K = 1989 X = 1999 9 = 2009 K = 2019
Good luck

You mean the rear shock linkage?

Your welcome! I bought a 2001 and got home with a 2000. Not a big deal because it was still the same bike but 94 to 95 is a lot of change.

Ok, we'll wrap this thread up.
Opted to not go with that bike.
Hopefully going to look at something much newer on Wednesday.
Stay tuned....
