have you read this:

generally you need to go 1 size down on the pilot in hot weather (assuming you were spot on in colder weather...)
follow the guideline and you'll get your bike running good in no time.

Ok so i did all the jetting stuff found out I had water in my fuel, drained tank put new gas in, bike ran awsome parked it for the night went out the next day to ride and it was running like crap again I played around with the clipp setting moving the clip all the way to the bottom and moving it up as the bike improved I now have the clip on the very top of the needle bike runs much better but still a lil flatt in the middle what I am wandering now is, should I change out the needle and the main jett and possibly the slide I have heard running it on the top clip can mess up the motor? Is this true?

Running it on the top clip just means that you need to go down a size on your main jet. I would go a step down on your pilot jet as well. I don't know how running the clip in the top position could even remotely hurt your bike as it makes no sense. If it really could then why would Keihin, Mikuni, and others make the needles that way?
