I found a great deal on a 2001 cr125 roller that I plan on swapping a kdx 200 motor into. It looks like most builds use an 03 or newer swingarm. What needs to be done to the earlier swingarms to make them functional for a hybrid?

These are perfect thanks.
How are people cutting down the swing arm bushings? Machining or cutting?

grinder with cutting wheel. then finished it with with a file to make it perfectly flat. Check the hybrid builds, it's been detailed a few times.

Is this year worth doing? Whats the handling like compared to a 03+ kx125 hybrid or a 02+ cr125 hybrid?

Yes, the 00-01 are second gen frames and are comparable to 02+ frame. Honda had issue with the pre-00 first gen frames

FYI,if you use the Gen II (00-01) frame you can easily update the styling to the Gen III(02-07). You need the Gen III tank and airbox along with some simple brackets fabricated then you can mount up the Gen III plastic for a more modern look.

Hey Carone-looks liked nobody addressed your question.
FRom what I can tell, it looks like Legend boy just cut the 2001.
Where did you see a 2003 swingarm used?
