Will water inside my expansion chamber hurt it?

Not from riding but from washing. I want to clean the outside of the pipe since it is off the bike. Water will get in there unless I miss my guess. I will get it as dry as possible, but is there anything in the exapnsion chamber that water can damage? It's a FMF Gnarly pipe. Thanks.

water will not hurt anything. as long as you do it like you said. theres nothing in the pipe.

the spooge and carbon deposit would protect it anyway

A little extra spooge will protect anything until it gets into your powervalve! Lol...
