04 xr400 fork springs work?

Hi Guys, I have tried the search function, but must be search impaired, cause I can't find my answer. I havebeen told that 96 to 99 XR400 springs will work in my 01 220, but I need to know if I can use some from an 04 XR400. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx, Guy

Why not just look up the info at RaceTech?
Pretty much all the info is there, including the stock rates

I believe that they will work, no problem. The earlier XR 400 fork springs were .38's or .39's (stock KDX springs are .35 kg/mm). Later XR springs were .40's, I think...

Im not worried about the spring rate, just the fitment.
