KX front end complete

I have finally completed my conversion. I used a 2000 KX125 front fork, 2000 KX250 triple tree, 2000 KX125 wheel and 2001 KX125 axle. I replaced all the bearings/seals and had RB perform the stem swap. His bushing/spacer is an absolute dream. I finished the swap with a Galfer SS brake line and 2005 RM fork guards. Can't wait to find some time and go out for the maiden voyage.

Looks great! Did the RM fork guards line up with the mounting holes?

Yeh...how is the RM fork guard line up to the kx fork? any close up picture of it pls...looks slick! great job!
Just make sure everything are torque down and align correctly so as to minimize sticktion.

They kind of line up. Without modification, you can align the front two bolts or the one side bolt. If you mount the guard with the two front bolts, then the rear bolt is oriented correctly; however, it is a little too far to the rear. What I did was place a small (approximately 3/8") nylon spacer between the fork guard and fork. That would allow me to bolt up the fork guard using all three mounting points without modifying the holes in the fork guards. Seemed to work pretty well.
This is the only relatively close-up I have of the fork guards. Let me know if you need something else and I will try to get a pic.

That works for now, Thanks. Seems the fork guard is the stumbling block for the KX swap with the KDX brakes and that looks like an easy some what direct fit. I used the Kx guards and made a bracket to rivet to the guard but if that doesn't work out I now have options.

is that a 2005 RM125 or 250 fork guard? thanks.

I believe it was 250 fork guards. I would assume they are probably the same.

how about a pic of the caliper clearance and the wheel. I am almost done with mine but the brake disc seems to be rubbing the caliper

make sure you haven't swapped the spacers.

I had to grind some material off the caliper mount, to get the clearance I needed

spacers are right, i ordered new ones from Allballs, i was just thinking that they were possibly wrong or something like that. Grinding some of the caliper should do the trick though, i guess i should have thought of that.

Just keep in mind, mine was a KX fork with a KDX wheel conversion
My spacer was shaved down too

I guess I got lucky because I did not have any clearance issues. I used the entire KX front end (fork, wheel, axle) with the original KDX caliper. Everything fit great as far as I can see.
