Kids Under Attack In Illinois
On Jan. 27th Rep. Mary Flowers (D-Chicago) introduced H.B. 292 that would make it illegal for anyone under the age of 16 to ride a motorcycle or ATV.
Contact your lawmakers and tell them what you think about this.
This is outrageous and scary!

Oh to live anywhere else...I don't even have to wear a helmet when riding the road, but now they want to make me wear a helmet off road in my backyard, and my kid can't ride or drive at all, but will be trained at school about safety with ATV's. this is insane.

Honestly, I can't figure out why anyone lives in Illinois. The government corruption, the entire state pretty much bowing to the whim of the cesspool called Chicago, laws that have no common sense and contradict each other. Yeah, I like California and New York better than Illinois and I won't set foot in either of them!

ok. without knowledge, i am blind; demanding your understanding ... demanding you follow my lead.
w/ knowledge, i can see; appreciating what is that is ....
the weak shall inherit the earth for their ignorance ....
i dare you to tell me I "can't"!!!!!!!!

Very much the same in Singapore. we cant drive or ride unitl 18 years of age. And got to go to a driving school to get a licence for them. we got to pay road tax and even a certificate of entitlement for having own a vehicle too. so many rules and money here.
But the government here never corrupt unlike other country. They ripe you dry upfront...haha..

This is the 2nd or 3rd time she has proposed this legislation. [I have contacted my representatives. Being an AMA member makes that easy.] She is a clueless big-city bureaucrat who thinks she knows better than every parent in IL and therefore sees fit to impose her flawed (in my humble opinion) ideal on everyone. Makes me sick. Oh, and don't forget the 67% income tax increase that was just imposed on us. Yeah, living in IL is fun!

I'm not sure but I have heard that Mass has already baned two stroke boat engines in many if not all lakes.

in s.c. we dont have to wear a helmet on the road{over 21}. we dont have to have turn signals{as long as you use hand signals}.
federal law......i think, says you have to be 16 or older to ride atvs......its on the sticker on the atv when you buy it. {over certain ccs}.
The more i think about laws, the more i get pissed off. the goverment is trying to pass so many laws trying to make it where you cant own guns, now motorcycles........gas is high as heck, taxes are high, ect...........and it dont look like its gonna get better!

Reasons are think about it if every 10 years old kid were to ride a bike or drive a car, it is the maturity problem and able to realise danger to ones and others on the road to prvent accidents. I will be scare and worried if my 12 year old were to drive or ride on the road.
having guns for self protection is oike, but more than often people mis use them to commit crimes. I will not want guns to be able to buy and own any old how. Gun law is good and should be implemented for good.
talking about gas, who owns it. it is the middle easten, Iraq. and who tries to conquer it? it is US! and it actually leads to the rise in oil during and after the WAR.
regard to not having to wear a helmet, i will not ride without one. you have not seem a head crashed infront of you. i have. pls promote safe riding like having to wear all possible PPE and dress for the fall.

KDXsg, thing is in the good 'ole USA we don't like our government taking the responsibility away from the people. They are supposed to be here to help, not control.
Anyways, things are going to get political real fast. Politics always leads to fighting and we don't need that. I'm out!

Governments and Politicians do some things well:
Sitting in the capitol talking to one another
Running for re-election when the time comes.
Giving speeches
Collecting taxes.
Governments really blow at:
Creating laws or regulations designed to control or regulate lawful trade
That sums it up for me. I prefer my Government out of my business and out of my neighbors business.

"I'm not sure but I have heard that Mass has already baned two stroke boat engines in many if not all lakes.'
MA sucks, but this is not accurate, as far as I know. There may be some isolated 2-stroke bans, but it certainly is not all inclusive. My brother is a MA EPO, so I am sure he will tell me if/when it happens. Then I will richen up the mixture on my old Evinrude enough so that it four strokes away...
