2001 YZ250 Hybrid??

I have a 1991 KDX200. Got it from a friend for a good deal, but the ergos suck for me (6'2"). I have been reading a bunch here in the hybrid forum. I really want to put together a hybrid. Haven't had much luck locating a reasonable priced 99-02 or 03+ KX125 locally.
I scored a roller '01 YZ250. Is this reinventing the wheel to try this green/blue swap? Preliminary measurements look like I would have to remove about 3/8ths from each side of the swingarm to clear the KDX cases. Anyone know of a Yamaha hybrid.

u might be the 1st to try it. There is a lot of kx kdx and a few cr kdx for the H serie hybrid done already. I think I've seen 2 done with the E model, I'd say go for it and good luck. Sounds like a fun build to follow.

Search on here....I think someone built one, but never posted too much about it. Gotta make a great bike. People have done aluminum CR's etc so the yami can't be too bad.

I think I remember reading about an issue with cutting the swingarm and it not being solid. Try a search.

I am going to spend some time out in the garage this weekend with a tape and calipers. Thanks for the link Tedh98. My fabricator buddy wants to do this as much as i do. We'll see if we can come up with a solution on the swingarm cavity. Maybe this will end up being a fork swap on my DR650...

Thought I would give an update. Now I have USD forks on my DR650

Looks good, now i have to do some tweaking on the forks, get new wheel bearings and a Vapor computer.
Looks like the kdx/yz swap may have been possible if I mounted the motor/swingarm like a TRX 250R. Mount the swingarm and motor seperately using a bracket/sleeve off the frame. Mounting the motor like this wouldnt have left much room and I dont have a spare motor to mock up.
Back to my search for a KX or CR for cheap.
