I'm drinking! Just ordered the bearings, about $60 for Ma Kaw ones.
Concerning replacing the lower stem bearing, is this a do-it-yourself project, or should I take the lower clamp/stem assembly to a local shop and have them press the new bearing on?

Freeze your lower triple trees and stem.... stick your bearing in the oven at about 250.... wear welders gloves... run out to the garage and slide her on and tap her down. Then let it cool and grease the piss out of it. Worked for me.....
Cut the old one off... cutting wheel worked for me, got her close and then used a chisel to take it the rest of the way.
