A LOT and yes, it's worth it, you've already got 5 bucks worth of info from here.

Julien D needs to get you set up. Go to this topic http://www.kdxrider.net/forums/viewtopi ... 88&t=19398 , quote him and ask him to get you set up.

A few questions about my 94 kdx200

Post by ubareddition »

Yes ive got quite a few updates for you guys. You gotta wait for another time for pictures and a full write up but my cylinder is at powerseal usa getting replated. And my carb and head is with ron black. Most of all my other parts are in and ready to be installed. I just need to build a work bench and then i can finish pulling the bottom end apart for the rebuild and reseal. Depending on how far i get tonight with clearing some space to work in my garage i might have some updates later for ya.

A few questions about my 94 kdx200

Post by ubareddition »

So i just got an email from ron black and my carb is no good to mod. He says it would be a waste of money because its in such bad condition. If anyone has any resonably priced carbs for sale let me know. Other wise im gonna buy a new already modded one from him.

I got another email from ron saying that hes out of new modified carbs and his supplier wont get them to him till middle to end of september. I really dont want to wait that long. So im trying to come up with plan b. Im almost wondering if i could get my carb running good enough to get me thru till end of september.

I called my local kawasaki dealer. They said that the stock carb is discontinued from kawasaki. They recomended i call sudco. Thay said they have a stock carb part number 016-144 and an air striker simular to rons part number 016-197.
The stock one is 222$ and then id have to either send it to ron. Or just put it on my bike and wait for ron to get modified ones in stock. I have a question because he said he had a wide range of keihin pwk carbs. How many mm is the stock carb? 28?

So i traded a few more emails with RB. The quote is 470$ for a quad vent air striker carb, the head work, the stainless steel allen bolts for the float bowl, the thumb and finger adjustment screw and return shipping. Uhhhhh. Its alot. Alot more than i was expecting. I was hoping my carb would be good to mod and with the head work and everything be around 300. Idk if i want to pull the trigger on it especially since the quad vent air striker wasnt even the carb i wanted. I wanted the better top end of the oem style. But i dont want to wait till the end of september to ride. The bike has already been apart for 2 months and im dying on the inside everytime my buddy who lives on my road rips by on his kdx 220. So i might just do it and if i really dont like the carb get the one i wanted and sell the air striker.

On the plus side my bench is builtImage

And i got the bike up on the standImage

So i can start the bottom end... wheel bearings and the other mods i have planned.
