The guide has a slot that goes over the the spring. I had to take things way apart to get it right, and until I did the right side cover wouldn't go on ask the way. Are we talking about the same thing?

Hey guys I'm trying to find the right front brake switch I need to buy to get my tail light to work. Does anyone have one they have personally used that works good?

You can use a hydraulic switch if there's room behind the hand guard. I have a generic hydraulic brake switch for my rear caliper that I just plummed in a few days ago to an LED tail light.

Ok I ordered that. And a handlebar switch so I don't have to have 4 different switches. Baja designs had an all in one that I got.
Now how do I hook up a small 12 volt battery? Because I ordered one of those too.

LOL! Sorry, that went to the wrong thread! Don't know how that happened. Please ignore.

I'd go with the Wiesco. I believe forged is generally considered stronger but no data.

I put a $10 Chinese regulator/rectifier on my 92 kdx200 and am now running LED head and tail lights. Might be good to put a capacitor on it too to smooth out the wave, but no need for a battery.

The battery is for future plans with a cellphone charger and a trail tech

Cool.
Trail tech will work with your stock AC wiring (as long as there's enough wattage). I love the idea of plugging in a phone for charging, but the bike vibrates so much that I'd be concerned about the charging connector. Maybe a wireless charging setup in the phone holder would work.
As far as holding the phone, I can't speak highly enough about the Perfect Squeeze holder. Made in Montana, very well designed for this purpose, and has been tested on my rigid mtb, dirtbike and dual sport with no hints of letting go of the phone.

I will check them out. Also look at this. I'm drooling over it.

Dang that perfect squeeze holder was a little more money than I expected it to be. But it looks heavy duty and well made. Will have to order one in a few weeks once some bills get paid.

Yeah, it's a little spendy. After going through a couple of failing x grips though, I think it's a great deal.

So I'm working on my bike right now. The kick starter is returning but just not strong enough. Doesn't go all the way to the top. Do I just need to wind the spring another turn?

Is it a new spring? Is it lined up properly?

Ah. I see what you mean now with the white clip and the slot. I took a flat head and made sure it was pushed in all the way and now it works perfectly. Can cross that off the list.

Dekon wrote:Issue #3, 99% of the time the plastic guide in the spring is not on correctly. It may look like it is but it only has to be off a tiny bit and the kicker will not return. I had to do mine 5 or 6 times in order to finally get it to work. Finally, I made a mark with a sharpie on where the guide has to be. Made it much easier to install correctly.
You were right. It was that plastic guide thingy.

Glad you figured it out. That plastic collar is a major PITA!
