I do not believe that there is anything wrong with the OEM rod. It is just that the Hot Rod and Wiseco "kits" are more convenient, and a little less expensive than purchasing the individual OEM rod, pin, and washers.

Yup. Sounds about right to me.

Nothing wrong with OEM or hotrods. Plenty of folks use OEM (Pro-x) pistons in their 200's....It's just the 220 that is a POS.

No one has a problem running OEM pistons on the 200.
Anyways, basically what we are saying is that you could order the parts from the US, have them shipped, and still come out cheaper than what that shop wants if current exchange rates hold. $1 US = $1.04 AUS

I see what your saying. Makes sence too, the piston isnt the problem (Bought wiseco before) and im looking into other cylinder options, but to get the ball rolling so i can get the bottom end together, oem rod or aftermarket.
I can get hotrod or pro x, depending what they have in stock at the time and is only about $30 cheaper than OEM kit from Kawa dealer.

The research I did when I was asking the same question I found out that it really didn't matter which one as both are good quality. So, just buy whichever you can find the best price for and/or find in stock.
Me, I'm going with the Hot Rods kit just because I don't like how they never fixed the 220 piston. Pure personal bias on my part.
