Indawoods,
I take it you want to keep your existing graphics in place?
Here is what we can do

Those look good. Would you take an order possibly? I'll be needing some new numbers and with a design like the one you have there I would be willing to pay you.

They look SuHweeeeeT !!!

Is it a big job to make a template for the H model radiator shrouds ?? I can post you a paper cut out easily enough if that helps. Not trying to pressure you into anything just chucking some ideas out there.

I have no problem at all designing what fellow kdx owners want.
Lets just say that I will design these graphics and they should all have the "RIDER.NET" under the "KDX" badge. I will need help with the difference in models and what years they cover. I also may need some doner plastic so I can template them if anyone has extras.
We will need to lock down a generic KDX vertical layout and a horizontal
layout
Look at these

Anyone else familiar with vector based graphics???
We'll discuss the specifics later.

If no one has old plastics for a H model I will ebay some and dotate them to the cause. :)

I would donate also. Those are great lookng and we can all support fellow KDXers and this site. Lets face it we pretty much all hate the early 90s graphics, they were great in their heyday but they went the way of the flannel and there time has past. I was looking to get new graphics so I would definately like these more than buying OEM graphics.

I think an updates version of what is on my bike now.... like KDXRIDER.NET in place of KAWASAKI. I mean... it's green.... of course it is a Kawasaki!

Alright,
Whos gonna take up pattern making duties?
Just need 1 volunteer per type.
I'll give some general outlines on how to do it
and a mailing address of where to send it.
You still up for the duty, KDXer?
Even if we get a couple per different patterns from different members.
I can atleast compare them. Then I'll have to send them a pen plot to check my vector shape.
1st set of 250D graphics will be in production tomorrow!
So, there is 'E' and 'H' in the 200, 'A' for the 220.
Is there any difference in the shrouds from 95-05 for the 'H' model.
Does the 220 share rad shrouds with the 200H?
It seems that it is just E,H that need to be patterned?

pattern:
Tape some paper together (overlapping), tape front and back or if ya got bigger paper then great. Cut some 3/4" holes in the paper (3 or 4 total is fine). Place some tape over the holes so it will stick to the plastic and keep it from moving around while tracing. Make sure there is no waves in the paper. Pressing the paper around the contours will help you see what your tracing.
Next part is up to you depending on where your skills are...you can
do a rubbing or trace the edge by hand. We are looking for the edge
of the 'flat' and the horizontal body 'line' near the top of the shroud.
If you want to pattern the side plates(both) and other items too then great. My side plates are not identical.
The cleanest pattern(s) wins a prize!

Put your name on the pattern and make sure you have a return address on the envelope.
Send pattern(s) to:

I'm on the job. Would you like me to make a copy of my existing graphics outline or the radiator shroud ?? Or both ?? I have the same N-style graphics as Vince's ride. Let me know when you can and I'll work on it tonight.
Alternatively I can ebay a set of rad shrouds and side plates. Your call, I'm easy....
H MODEL 200-220'S HAVE THE SAME SHROUDS ETC...

I HAVE MADE ONE TEMPLATE OFF THE RIGHT HAND RAD SHROUD oops. I will make one of the graphic and also the shroud itself. Do you need a left hand one done also or are you able to just mirror the template ?? I'm off to make the graphic template, it's only 2.30am I still got a few hrs. hehehe.

KDXer is a self motivated man!
I also just noticed your down under. Every place I go in this world people always mistake me for a Aussie......"hey mate" is all I hear, especially in Bali.
Flip your pattern and see if it is identical on other side of bike. I use a $3,000 vinyl design program that does allot more than just mirror
My side plate was .25-.375" taller on the exhaust side (more curved) but that is on the 250.
The trace of the graphic itself is a great idea!
Good job!

If I designed something in photoshop and then sent the .psd or w/e file format you need could you imprint that design on some vinyl? So is anyone making a template for a 2002 220?

thebleakness,
I can print a raster image on my 720dpi LG. format printer but would need a vector for a contour cut w/ a .125 bleed. A design like mine needs to be line art (vector). Can you post a jpg of it on here?

Hey people,
KDXer...you still asleep or did some coffee do the trick
Here is the first shroud set
Too bad my black cartridge came up short and snapped within inches of the end!

I realized it was on the order board after the fact.
Setting up the file was crazy! After a while it all looks alike, just a bunch of lines. Took 3 hours.
Oh well, I need to weld a small crack in my shroud before it gets a decal applied to it. So much to do, so little time!

Hehe, I'm back up and working on it again.
Those graphics look sweet, in paticular the swingarm decals.
Any chance you can print green or is that not an option, just curious ??
Cheers,
Trev...

I have a lime green resin cartridge but haven't checked to see how close it matches Kawi green. I would have to re-roll it onto a new cartridge but I had planned on that already. Gerber forced a product upgrade on us that left me with $3,000 worth of resin cartridges that won't work until I have one of my guys re-roll it to a new style cartridge. The bastards!
Oh well
The silver looks much better than it shows in the pic. I keep using the crappy camera...the one that just lays around the house. My wife uses it daily every time the cat does something cute
Let me know how the pattern turns out. I'm sure it will be great!
Hey KDXer.........you ever run over a croc with your KDX? Just curious
