That’s a thought, I may go that route, thanks! On another note, I’m now pretty sure kdxgarage is right about which upper clamp can be used if needed. (I must have been sent a kx500 clamp which has a different offset) From what I can now tell the 91-92 kx250 should bolt right up. I’ll either try that, or go with the Protaper’s, thanks again!

Ps KLX forks do just barely touch the tank, I’ll work on that once I get this completed

Would a slightly wider steering stop be able to be welded underneath the stock one?

I know I'm way late to this topic but I just did this mod. You want a kx250 upper clamp from a 92-95. It fits perfectly on the klx300 forks. I hope this helps.
