No problem. Please don't talk about saws blowing up. I would cry if mine did.

I tried to read some on that link you had. Did you see if that guy bought the bike new or used? I am wondering if he bought it used, then started testing it without a full rebuild first. I am just not sure.

I don't think he took into account whatever use it got before he bought it used.

"... my like-new KDX200."

It's a great account of what happened where he picked up though!

He definitely did a thorough job of documenting his test of KDX durability.

His final assessment of the bike at the end is spot on. A bone stock KDX is a very capable machine. If you want to go faster it’s not modifications to the bike that will get you there. Only practice and talent can can have a significant impact on your speed.

As the saying goes; It ain’t the bike........

You weren't out of line or anything. It's all good. I just wanted to point out my personal experiences using Lucas 2T oil which have shown me that it's a good oil.

I do think KDXGarage makes a good point about the torture test KDX. If he didn't go through the engine there is no way of knowing it's real condition before he started testing it. My engine was 100% gone through. About the first 150-200 hours were on Maxima 927 and it's been on Lucas since. Oh, yeah, it's close to 1000 hours now since the rebuild. The YZ250X ran what came in the tank from the dealer when new and then immediately started using Lucas. I wish I had taken some pics of the cylinder to show how nice it was. It still has perfect crosshatch and no scuffs or marks.
