Which either jetting scenario is recommended by fmf for my setup and was also confirmed by a tech at a local dealership but can't really know if it's that accurate because I don't know this stuff

Yes leaner but your rt. in the ball park with those numbers .
I find it hard to believe that is an issue.
My guess is coolant.
Head gasket replacement is a piece of cake , don't get rid of it over that :)

Don't beat your self up over not knowing this stuff , the rest of us learn all the time and I assume we've got many more years experience.
Thats why I'm on here , curious as to what the issue may be.

Not sure the relevance but oil on part of the threads but not all ????
Can't smell coolant on the plug just premix as far as I can tell it's not overly strong smelling either

You wouldn't smell coolant as the color is dry residue,
I'm staying with Jason on the coolant leak.
This plug has a clearer picture of coolant as the first plug was run longer and had normal oil signs.
Any 2 stroke is going to have oil on the plug threads.

If the coolant level is down , I'd pull the head.
Unless someone else has any other suggestions ,,,,, sorry to dominate this thread.
and I guess you can't mention products or torque specs :(

Stay with the Iridium style plug after fixing the problem , fine wire center and v shaped ground ,,,, nice

Wasn't aware that was a forum rule as I mentioned a personal product preference and torque pfreference
and the post was deleted ,,,,,,, oh well.
Hope that fixes the problem.
Have you confirmed the coolant was low ???

Wow,
Good call Jason!
Coolant is not what I would be thinking. See, we learn something new every day.

Ok so here's the deal head gasket was bad, pulled the one off the spare motor I had as it was basically brand new gasket, swapped water pump, new plug (iridium) and new coolant. Woke up this morning fired it off and I'll be damned it runs with no issues all the way to top gear as fast as I could get it to run on a 3/4 mile stretch of field. Got back pulled the plug not really wet at all and was a nice brown color with minimal darker brown/black... I think I scored finally

Stayed with the 160 main and 48 pilot.

Seems rich on the jets to me, but that's my opinion. Glad you got it all sorted out.

Worse case your bike may stutter or hesitate from being overly rich BUT
rich jetting never hurt anything. Thats why Kawasaki chose that route .
A little extra smoke out the pipe never bothered me.
Glad it worked out :)

Gotta remember what you just said about running fast across the field.
Thats where your going to get a good plug reading with stk jetting.
When you go out and spend a day trail riding , your going to see a much darker plug.
Thats why us two stroke guys keep a few extra plugs in stock.
Even though I can't remember the last time I fouled a bike plug ,,,,, hmm , it's
usually in the dam chain saw or trimmer.

Nah ,, you don't foul plugs like the old 20:1 days.
I'd go out on limb and say an engine that is jetted correctly will never foul a spark plug.
Especially with an NGK
