Anyone know the best place I can get a Kawasaki shop manual for the Kdx200

You didn't specify year, but many years can be found on ebay for around $50 or less. If it's an H series I now you can also get Cyclepedia's online version. Not as detailed as the Kawasaki manual, but handy when out and about!

I use Transmission fluid for gear oil...DexCool for coolant...BUT.....(see all of the next posts)

Don't mix dexcool with any other coolant if you decide you want to run dexcool flush your system really good I just run universal yellow works fine.

I hate it when people advise others to totally disregard a well thought out design that does a good job of preventing muddy water from entering into the engine and wearing everything down. Also muddy water can cause the throttle slide to stick. Before I learned this lesson my throttle stuck wide open while racing motocross after the engine inhaled muddy water because I had listened to rookies advice to take off the air box snorkel. (Worse advice is removing the airbox lid)
Only if you live where there are no streams, no puddles, and it never rains should you ever consider listening to this advice. (Sahara desert?)
Granted, the snorkel does limit the air intake a little bit but unless you are prepared to fabricate something that is as equally protective should you take it off.
Oh, and did I mention how much fun it is to have to split the cases and press apart the flywheel to replace worn out rod bearings?

I use auto tranny fluid from walmart, works great and is cheap. I also use shell rotella T the regular non synthetic version, also works great and slightly less cheap.

Different bikes respond different to oils, some don't like trans fluid, some love it. I was using "Gear Saver" but the shifting was a little harsh. Now I use whatever is cheap trans fluid, shifts better.....Again some bikes like regular 10-40 oil better. You just have to try it out....There is no "right" answer to this question.
