got a little bit of work done on the TT-R today
(the decals came in yesterday together with the front fender decals)

Image

I will take of both fenders, tank shrouds and tank and paint them the same purple you see on the bottom of the numberplate
(still working on how to attack the tank)

the front numberplate will be replaced with a white version of which I will paint purple to make the transition look good

nothing to show but a lot going on

I have coated the inside of the tank with something called "caswell epoxy gas tank sealer"
according to their tech rep it will prevent the tank to breath out vapors which is what normally kills the paintjob on a plastic tank

I actually did that several weeks ago and im expecting a shipment of krylon fusion paint to come in tomorrow so I can paint all the plastics a nice purple colour

the carb has been cleaned and upjetted (cant remember what was in there, 15, 105 maybe but now shes running a 17.5 pilot and 115 main)

the welded up muffler was enough of an excuse to replace the whole thing with a FMF powercore IV and the airfliter has been replaced with a new, pre-oiled unit
while I was in there I removed the mesh that sits between the filter and the carb and I ripped out the snorkel

all she needs now is an oilchange and the cosmetics and we are good to go

im thinking maybe over the winter ill strip her down and have the frame powdercoated silver, that will really look fly :boogie:

Looking good. Reminds me (plastic styling and all) of when the YZs were purple, before they went blue. What was that ...'94-'95?
