A little disappointment today. :? Finally got my rear rim that I have been waiting on since Feb. 3. I paid $20 extra to get a silver Warp 9 rim anodized blue to "match" the factory Warp 9 blue. Well, as you can see, that isn't what happened.

So, it appears I'm out the extra $20 and I have two rims that don't even remotely match. I guess I'm going to have to pay to have it re-anodized locally. Yea.

Bummer. Did you try talking to them about it? Maybe they'd help you out at a discount or something since they jacked it up for you. I know, probably unlikely. But still......

I actually like the color better on the rear rim though, lol.

I have an email out to him to see what he says.

The original deal was that I would purchase the silver rim and then pay an additional $20 ($111.86 total) for the blue anodizing to match the factory blue. I waited patiently for right at a month only to be let down.

The pics really don't show the true color of it. It is almost aqua in color. I would be fine with the color if I had two rims that actually matched but that didn't happen. However, I do prefer the factory blue as it matches my other blue components better.

Crap. :?

yeah, it would be hard to tell from the pics, and without seeing it on the bike. I can see what you mean for sure. Having 2 different color rims would bug me too much.

I hope. :? It seems I have run into a few problems that are making me wonder. The Dyna, the rim, Jet Hot lost my piston for a few, and I ordered another clutch cover and they sent me one for a completely different bike! UGH!

Me too! Unfortunately I have to wait until after March 13th to begin. I need my bike as I'm working our club's race that weekend and need it to get to my post on the course.

I just talked with Kevin at Warp 9. He is setting me up with a blue rim that matches and said it should be here by Monday! :supz:

BTW, anyone want to buy a new rim at a deeply discounted price?

Got my new rear rim directly from Warp 9 today. The color is still off considerably but is way better than the last one. These pics don't show the difference as good as in person. However, I'm going to run with it. It will look decent in pics at least!

Tell them it's off, and send BOTH wheels so they can match them.

Well, guys, I wish I could. One was bought from RMATV and the other directly from Warp 9. I don't see how they would take care of that for me?

I'm thinking that they are close enough in color that it will be tough to tell when they are all mounted up on the bike. The contrast is much more obvious when they are directly side by side, maybe not so much when separated by the middle part of the bike. I think it's going to look sweet.

I'd advise you to test their customer service. Both rims are Warp9's products, and therefore their responsibility. Also, RMATV had to buy the rim from them at some point, so it's not like Warp9 would be taking any major financial losses. If they care about customer service at all I wouldn't be surprised if they replaced both rims for you (and probably re-sell your mismatched rims).

I guess I'll give Kevin a call tomorrow and see what they will do.

On to other things, I finally received my piston back from Jet Hot. It looks purty!

Also, my Scotts skid plate and shifter arrived. I was disappointed to see that the skid plate didn't have the up-swept wings on the sides but it seems like a well built unit so I'm OK with it. The shifter looks really nice as well.

Never got to calling Kevin as things have just turned to crap. My car blew a head gasket at minimum or possibly worse. Won't know until I tear in to it. The KDX is down as well. Was riding, it started to overheat and lose power for some reason, tried to shut it down and it wanted to keep running. Finally got it shut down and now won't restart. I had to push her about a mile home. This is the only time my KDX has ever let me down. I haven't even looked at it since I parked it. To add insult to injury, I wrecked my bus at work.

So, my bike is on hold as of this moment unless I can get the car fixed cheap. Yea.

On my KDX? Yes, I'm still running the one I bought it with over a year ago. The one in the pic above will be going in during the rebuild when I get to it.
