We got lucky and didn't see any where we live. I could see it on the mountains and we got some small hail and rain but not bad at all. If I hadn't been doing my seat to day I would have went riding!

SS109 and I are talking about two different shroud decals in theKDXsg wrote:Hi, KDX200- E2, do you want to sell the kdx shroud decal? i am interested. do quote pls.
past posts. One of them is the blue/white ones he shows in the
above post with the Maier shrouds. The other are the OEM ones
I mentioned. They are the same except, Green where the blue
is.
I do not wish to sell (or loose) the green set. As for the Blue ones
they are reproductions I had made a couple of years ago. When I
sold a set the SS109 that left me with one new spare set. I might
consider letting them go if someone was doing a full up restoration
to a Blue/White KDX as SS109 is. Other wise I will hang onto them
incase I damage the set that is on my bike now.
I am going to lend the green ones to SS109 to let him scan them.
Maybe he will be interested in having reproductions made of both
the green and blue decals.
You might check with Kawasaki. They may still have the OEM ones
for the green bikes.
Cheers, Jeff

Finally, another piece has arrived!

Not really build related but I picked up a Klim F4 helmet on clearance for only $149! You just can't beat a $400 helmet for that price. This is my first premium helmet I have had in over 20 years. Came with helmet, bag, extra visor, extra visor screw, breath/face guard, and wind stopper liner for cold weather. It fits like a glove and is super comfy.

If you want to see more of it here are some links to much bigger detail pics:

Go find a nice gravel parking lot and drop kick that sucker
That's how I broke this $500 Arai in

Fuggin dropped it and when I lunged forward to catch it, I kicked it 50' across the parking lot

Well, all I have is a digital bathroom scale so I weighed myself with it and with out it three times each for consistency. I got the same readings each time. What I got was 3.2 lbs or 51.2 oz. I bought it from Motorcyclecloseouts.com. They have three colors still available but mainly only XS, SM, and MD sizes. here is they link: http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/off+ ... s+helmets#
AtomicMoto also has them on closeout but not quite as good a price. [EDIT: just checked and they are sold out]

Just an FYI for the future, I bought some Guts seat foam and was having trouble installing an N-Style seat cover over it. I called Guts for advice and they installed the cover for the cost of me shipping the seat to them and it looks great. They usually don't install competitive seat covers for no charge, but they do install the seat covers they sell for free with no hassle. I'm pretty happy with them.SS109 wrote:OK, I recovered my seat today. Let me tell you that was one helluva workout! A couple of things I learned today.
1. Don't use a hand staple gun. Get air or electric powered. Trust me it is worth the $$$!
2. See how the seat looks at the edges when installing new foam as you might need to trim/sand to get it to be smooth and look good. I didn't and after I noticed I was too frustrated to care.
3. On the E series cover you really need to work from the center out to get it smooth. Even with that as soon as I put it on the bike wrinkles appeared at the bend.![]()
4. I never want to do it again!![]()
I guess it came out OK but I would probably get CEET or a local shop do the install next time.
BTW, here is a pic of the fenders I plan to try to make work. One of our nosey cats (Meathead) just had to see what I was up to.

Read this part again from my post

"how about letting go of the reproduction set to me." is not very polite
and does not meet the above criteria, sorry.
Stay tuned. If Mr. SS109 decides to make some new reproductions
there will be plenty to go around.

Hey, don't call me Mister, Mister!

Yeas, I will be checking into having a few made. If people are interested, anyways. If not, I will just save the scans until the time comes someone can use them.

I also bought one of the Klim F4 helmets at a good discount. I liked everything about it except the top two vents. The really grab branches, especially if you ride overgrown trails. After getting my neck yanked a few times, I removed the black louvers around the top two vents and taped over them. THis was better, but the soft spots over the vents would still catch brush occasionally. It's a great helmet for street and dualspOrting, but I don't use it for serious bushwhacking or racing any more.
That said, I can't wait to see the finished bike!

Well, I do ride desert so trees are not too much of a problem around here. I ride year round so I need serious airflow in the summer. I'll ride up until it gets about 105 and then I call it quits as I can't seem to hydrate fast enough.

We do have a few trees but not that much. I'm pretty sure I'll be OK though.
Just a little side note, got a response from Polisport on the MMX headlight. They say it will handle the 45 watt bulbs with no problem. The 60 watt bulbs they haven't tested so they don't know if the lens housing can handle the heat. Just thought I would pass on that little tid bit.
