Still waiting on a lot of parts. However, a few more have trickled in.

Polisport MMX - 35 watt - there are 45 and 60 watt bulbs available that fit as well. I have an email in to PS to see if the light can handle the higher wattage bulbs.

Image

Tusk rotors and Fredette chain guide - Good reviews on the rotors and they look nice, the guard will be a nice touch and will work with the X-ring chain I bought.

Image

Ceet standard seat cover and new foam - thankfully the blue is darker than the original!

Image

I think this weekend I will finally start tearing her down. Oh what fun it will be! :supz:

Nope. Just a standard style seat.

BTW, I will no longer need the Super Spots™ 35/35 watt, xenon, super white bulb that works with the stock headlight shell. I'm willing to offer this $18 bulb for free to the KDXrider community and I'll even pay the shipping! It is my little way of giving back for all the help and friendship the forum has offered me. NOTE: with a stock stator you will need to be running either an LED taillight or none at all to get maximum brightness or it will dim big time at idle. That extra 5 watts does make a difference! I would love to see someone do a side-by-side comparison to the stock bulb with pics. (hint, hint!)

That's reassuring. Thanks for letting me know!

BTW, I got a package today from fellow KDXrider member KDX200-E2 with my new shrouds and the awesome repro decals he had made. Jeff, my man, I can't thank you enough! :prayer:

Image

Also, I have some repro "Uni-Trak" and "Kawasaki" decals coming from Australia! The graphics are the finishing touches that will make my bike complete.

Before you apply those graphics, I BEG you to do a high-resolution scan on your flatbed scanner and save it as a jpeg or something so you or anyone else can have another set made up by a decal/sign shop.

In fact, if you would be so kind, I would love to have a scan of those graphics so I can make up a set for the '93 I plan on eventually reassembling :)

Oh, and your bike is going to look a-vera nice-a.

If you are asking about the KDX shroud decals. I have two massive
.jpg pictures of them that I used for the re-pro.
If you mean the UNI_TRACK decal. sorry, kan't help there.
Jeff. KDX200-E2
BTW Kelly you are welcome, I hope the parts work out well for you.

the original 93 design is different,I'd have to look but I'm pretty sure my one side is in tact but still on the shroud.I'm not sure it's possible but if it was I'd be more then willing to sacrifice it in order to reproduce them as I will need a set soon.

Just take your shroud and lay it flat on a scanner bed. Try to hold it as flat as possible and you will probably get a decent scan. Make sure the part is not cold so it will flex a bit when holding it down. Trial and error.

As for the decals that Jeff sent me, yes, I plan to make some very high quality scans of them for backup. I will gladly make them available to anyone that asks. However, Jeff's scans might be better so I would definitely get both if I were you.

Yes, those shroud decals are specific to the 1990 (White/Blue) KDX200.
I have a new never mounted set of OEM decals exactly like the ones
I had reproduced, except in Green/White/Pink. I believe they are also
unique to that years Green bike.
If someone wanted to scan them and return them to me. I would provide
them to a (good, honest) KDX rider.
The .jpg pictures I have of the blue/white are like 7 to 8mb. To use them
you would have to scale them to the correct size.
I think the friend I had make my repros converted the pictures to AI
(Adobe Acrobat Illustrator) format to have them printed.
Glad to help if I can.
Cheers guys (& Gals)
Jeff

Jeff, if you would like to, send them to me and I'll scan them and keep the scans available to anyone who wants them. I can save them in many different formats using Photoshop so they should be useful to whoever would need them.

OK, I recovered my seat today. Let me tell you that was one helluva workout! A couple of things I learned today.

1. Don't use a hand staple gun. Get air or electric powered. Trust me it is worth the $$$!
2. See how the seat looks at the edges when installing new foam as you might need to trim/sand to get it to be smooth and look good. I didn't and after I noticed I was too frustrated to care.
3. On the E series cover you really need to work from the center out to get it smooth. Even with that as soon as I put it on the bike wrinkles appeared at the bend.
4. I never want to do it again!

I guess it came out OK but I would probably get CEET or a local shop do the install next time.

BTW, here is a pic of the fenders I plan to try to make work. One of our nosey cats (Meathead) just had to see what I was up to.
