Yeah, they sure are expensive! This one came from a buddy that pulled it off his KDX before he sold it.

I really like that it isn't mounted like the Scotts or GPR dampers up on the bars. That is just one more thing for my chest to get pummeled with I don't need!

I've tried a couple sets of the Tusk bars

While much better than steel bars they bend pretty easy

I found some Renthals for $20 on craigslist, they are stout

Well, hopefully my wraparound aluminum barkbusters will help keep them straight. If not, back to Renthals I go!

Those might be better. This was a few years ago. I think the bars cost $20 -$25

I'll find out for sure. I drop my bike fairly regularly so they'll get tested real good! These were only $28.

I should state that it won't be all Kaw. I'll be using a YZ front fender as they are easy to find in white. I haven't decided on a rear fender just yet. I have a few more bikes to look at to see what I can make fit. It does look like it will probably be from a YZ as well.

Now if I only could find some white KDX shrouds. :?

I wonder if one of those sign places could just wrap your shrouds?

Thanks. I don't know where to find NOS green shrouds but Fredette has UFO ones for sale. UFO Shrouds 1989-1994 kdx200 IMO, they look as good as the factory ones.

Another item arrived today. The cylinder that I bought on Ebay from US Chrome.

Question, is it normal to see pits in the cylinder? As you can see in the pic (the white looking dots) they are very noticeable. I can even feel them with my thumbnail. Also, I was kind of disappointed that there was still gasket material left on around the resonator cover area.

They show as having the white OEM shrouds at bikebandit. Wicked pricey though.

I've heard that some re-plated cylinders will show some pitting. Mine done at langcourt showed no such imperfection though. I'm sure you'll be fine with it.

Cheapcycleparts also shows them available but Service Honda lists them as discontinued. I sent an email to CCP to find out.

OK, time to help me decide what I should do with the swing arm. The frame will be white and I was thinking about painting the swing arm the same. Which do you guys think will look better, factory silver or white?
