Probably best to check with Mr. Black before you send your stuff in. I'd guess he would like to know something is on the way, especially if it requires special attention.
If it's Tuesday and you have to have your parts back for a race on Saturday...maybe touch base with him first to see if that is even possible, timewise.
If you have a Stromberg one barrel carb off a 1942 Victor, you might want to run the whole idea of working on it by him to see if it is even possible.
If he advises you to send 'X' part along with...or says that, maybe 'cuz your stuff is so old it will likely need an 'X'..at 'Y' cost, so send money...then send the dadgum money to start with.
DON'T be coming off like the injured party when you were advised to do something, didn't do it, then (lo and behold) there are consequences.
Ron is a downright nice guy...but he doesn't do machine work for giggles. It's his livelihood!!
Just FTR.....
