I read a comment from someone stating that this engine makes 58hp, but nowhere on the internet can I even find a website/magazine article with this called out. This sounds plausible based on displacement and the level of refinement and technology in this engine. The most powerful of all KTM 300 (292cc) engines in it's hottest tune state makes 55hp, so adding 35cc to that, it is certainly plausible at 58hp.

Yeah, whomever said that 58hp number, while a plausible one, pulled it from somewhere it stinks and the sun don't shine! :mrgreen:

Amazing!! I think I know my next bike.... even though I just bought a new one.
I'll definitely hold out for the 2028 model, though. I don't like buying first generations of anything really. By the second year they'll probably have any kinks worked out (if there even are any)!

I really feel that this new KX327 is pretty well refined and torture tested already, after at least 3.5 years of development.... KTM ends up having all sorts of problems because they go straight from the drawing board to the beta testing models which barely get tested in the real world before they are already released, and as such, they always have a lot of teething problems, and then they change the design again 2 to 5 years later, quite drastically... Add on top of that all of their outsourcing changes and financial troubles causing them to search for areas of savings anywhere possible.

I feel the bad batch of KX450 crankshaft gears a year or two ago really made them realize they need to be much more careful about metallurgy and manufacturing issues, even though that was only a small batch that was affected, they knew that this breakthrough back into the two-stroke world had to be absolutely perfected, and as such, they have studied the KTM and Beta 300 engines and mapping/tuning extensively in order to know their competition and know what they needed to beat. They have taken the best configurations that both of those two manufacturers have come up with and used it as the foundational layout of their new Kawasaki 2-stroke, and of course, to up the game, they made it a 327cc vs the industry standard 292cc for a 300... What better way to get everyone talking about it and also have a big selling point that it is more powerful and with a smoother power delivery possible through the bigger displacement, no need to do any sort of drastic radical tuning to get massive low-end torque at the same time as plenty of top end power...

I just browsed some other very intriguing information on the identical most recent thread on thumper talk on this topic...
The whole "we've been listening.. and we heard you" 2-stroke campaign's beginning means even more with this, as so many older/veteran riders have repeatedly been belligerently commenting all across the internet that they had better bring back the KX500, or else nothing matters...

It was just a troll. He doesn't know squat and was just making that up.

Well... This is interesting!

I was browsing info for building up a 2000/2001-2002/2003-2008 "KX144X" engine again, & looking up VHM & PhatHead cylinder heads, I saw they offer a "KX327" head...

I thought 100% for certain this was surely for a 99-02/03-07 KX250 2-stroke big bore...


Well...WTH? The listing is labeled KX327 & KX327X!

There was definitely no KX327X model in the 2000's!

The industry is preparing for it pretty heavily already.

Pro Circuit has supposedly had 2 of the prototype bikes at their testing & R&D facilities, FMF has announced teasers as to big products to come soon fir this industry leading new release, Phathead Racing and surely others as well!



Hopefully this expedites the avavability of full wrap fotk protectors for the KX lug design so I don't have to mod some Sherco KYB versions to fit these '25 KX450X forks I'm setting up for my '97 KX125/KDX220R hybrid build!
