Just thought I would include a couple of pics of my 1990 KDX200 restoration with KYB AOS forks.

Super sharp bike! Please let us know what components/modifications you used in the conversion.

The forks are off a 2009 CRF450R as well as the triple clamps. The clamps fit directly on the kdx without doing a stem swap as well as the bottom bearing. The only change required was the top stem bearing which I got off Amazon.

Yesterday I was browsing the Hybrid builds and bike weights.... When I built this bike I weighed the original back wheel and the new wheel that went on. The new wheel was 4.5 pounds lighter. I find it strange that you can get that much weight off a wheel but the complete bikes end up almost the same weights. This one did end up 8 lbs lighter in all

What was different between the new back wheel and the old back wheel? You could easily have 4 lbs difference in the tube and tire, but the wheels, not so much.

The '95-'06 KDX forks are some of the heaviest forks you could find for a similar bike... Most good forks alone are 1.1lbs to 4.8lbs lighter than the H-Series KDX forks! I'd guesstimate that the '89-'92 KDX200E1 through E4 forks weigh almost as much, although they are antiquated old damper rod forks so they have no separate rebound cartridge and no more complex base valve cartridge.

Bebite, I just purchased a set of AOS forks. Curious about valving/spring changes you made?

So far I havent made any valving changes at all and they feel quite good. I do believe changes had been made to these forks as the piston doesnt appear to be stock
