Main exhaust removal dilemma

So I saw through my exhaust port that my left valve on my 93 200 wasn't really doing anything. Pulled the head and the teeth on it were stripped. Bothe sides had some gunk, but were free and turned easy. I know I can get a set of steel replacements, just the left valve, or reproduction aluminum ones. Can I run the stock aluminum ones and throw a steel on the left side?
And while I'm in there, I would love to clean out the main exhaust valve in the middle, but I would have to pull my cylinder. Can I just reuse my rings and piston as long as theyre okay?

Oh, sorry. Didn't see they are new fabrications, let alone from Malya production. If desperate, then I'd try them. Possibly until them, I'd continue looking for a used one within the USA.

So you think I would be better off just waiting on a kawi replacement? Probably cheaper too. What are your thoughts about the rings?

Vintage: If you have time, then look for used. If you don't have more than about 2 5 weeks (approx. shipping duration from Asia), then by the new ones from Maylasia. This part normally doesn't receive much wear. I think I'd be happy with new or used.

As far as piston, piston rings, and cylinder you have, they can be re-used. I'd look at them very closely. If they look promising, then I'd measure ring gap. Also, accurately measure the cylinder since you've got your hands on the disassembled cylinder. If you are unsure how to do this correctly, then read up on it. If you don't have an appropriate caliper (gotta read three decimal places [thousandths of an inch]), then obtain one or pay an engine builder to do it.

I had seen that, I can't seem to get ahold of the czech guy, which is disappointing because that way would be a significant amount cheaper.
BDK didn't seem to have an issue with me replacing only one, just said that if my others are worn then I should just replace all.

Honestly a bit scared to. Kind of looking a gift horse in the mouth. The bike runs great, and when I was in there to look over the KIPS the bore looked really good, and I don't really have the cash to do a top end right now. Would just love to have the valves working right.

Is the left valve the one with or without the idler gear? I have one in good shape that is the one without the idler gear that meshes to it. It ain't perfect but it works. I replaced mine with the BDK steel ones and they work great! And look sweet too (When they're out of the bike). If you need the one you can have it for free, I don't have any need for it.

Edit: I have the other side too, but the top locator pin that goes into the head broke off, though I still have that pin too. It worked as far as I could tell when I took my top end apart, but I replaced it as I wasn't sure how it being broken would affect the valve.

So I took a chance on the kx powevalves guy on facebook. It was $70 to the door, and got to me in about 2 weeks. Guy was a little spotty on responses and had me a little nervous while I was waiting. It looked and fit great, but didn't have an index mark, so I just went off of my old one, and it all lined up great.

Glad to hear the positive report on the KXPowerValve.com products!

I personally would never reuse the OEM '89-'94 KIPS pieces in question, and would always go aftermarket to get stronger materials of higher melting point... BDK has been pretty well proven. Hopefully the KX Power Valve parts will be the same in the long haul

I'm glad it worked out! Those look great. The aftermarket valves seem to be the way to go, my BDK valves have been great.
