A couple questions couldn't you just cut the sleeve down and will it still be able to get enough oil the the bearing

Re: kdx clutch rattle
good questions, i had considered cutting the sleeve down but i didn't for a couple of reasons, firstly it was an experiment and i didn't know the exact measurement, i don't own a lathe so i would have to take it to my lathe guy a few times until i got the right measurement and he is way on the other side of town, with the washer idea i made it a touch too thick then sanded it down on a flat surface again and again until i got the right measurement,Kt220 wrote: 07:37 pm Jun 25 2024 A couple questions couldn't you just cut the sleeve down and will it still be able to get enough oil the the bearing
also machining down the sleeve brings the clutch pack closer to the basket, this may or may not matter but i wouldn't know until i tested it, i guess if somebody didn't own a lathe they could sand the sleeve down on a flat surface but i think its tool steel and would take a while
the oil question is important, its not a bearing but a bronze bush with lots of dimples, how oil gets in there even with stock washers is still a mystery to me as its too high to be bathed in oil and it seems as though the spinning effect would fling oil away from the gap in the washer and never make it inside to the bronze bush. when i put everything back together i coated the bush in moly grease as stated in the service manual, when i pulled it apart again some time later after riding most of the grease had washed out and replaced with oil, the gap in the washer is about 0.10mm,just a guess ,i should measure it, i may open up that gap a bit more or i was thinking i could file grooves on the washer to let in more oil but i think i would just do another moly grease test,if there is enough oil getting in to wash away grease then it should be fine
