Hi All,
Somewhat new to the forum but have been doing some reading here.
Doing a top end rebuild on my new to me 2006 KDX200. The KIPS was stuck or sticky when I removed the cylinder. Well a buddy and I took it apart, cleaned, and reinstalled with the updated version of the sub shaft/gears.
When looking at the function of the “valve” that opens and closes it does not seem to do this in sync. When the right side is closed the left side is open in the oriented/riding position on the bike.
Should this be happening or is it out of sync?
Sorry cannot seem to be able to attach the video.
Should KIPS ports open in Sync

They should be in sync, open and close together.

When we installed we thought we had both gears aligned with the line in the shaft. Back to the drawing board.
Thanks for the reply!

Well I realigned that subgear just by lifting it up and rotating it until it was in the correct position, kinda.
Next question….with it in the fully open position should it only be directed to the KIPS chamber?
Or If I rotated the sub gear another tooth it opens it up to about half the KIPS chamber but also to the passageway/port leading into the piston cylinder.

I am aware of problems and updated aftermarket versions of KIPS valves for earlier E series KDX 200, but not aware of any updated versions for your latest H series 200.
Are you sure you have the correct valves installed?

Re: Should KIPS ports open in Sync
Pump guy….what I meant to say is that I have the updated installation instruction sheet that corrects the oem mislabeled left/right sub valve.
I have corrected my issue….I think I had the left sub valve off by 180°. Rotated the sub valve and all is aligned.
Now I’m waiting for the new piston and rings to arrival so I can install it.
