Ideas for boredom projects?

Got a covid boredom project for the weekend! Going to replace the shifter shaft (drives me nuts, the shifter always coming loose), and slap on a new lug for the kicker... should be a fun time. Anyone have any other ideas for some other stuff to keep me occupied until it gets warmer out? I've already re-greased every possible thing I can on both bikes. Even got to the point of just pulling out bolts, putting some grease on them, and putting them back in haha help me, I'm loosing my mind with the cold weather and nothing to do! I did get some fancy new footpegs for the supermoto... but that kept me busy for like 10 minutes

I did move recently, so I got a few house projects to keep me busy, check out the new garage space! I have a ton of work space, even with my truck and the girlfriend's car in there... I think I need to get a new build project underway...have been keeping my eyes open

Ive been there with the shifter shaft! Thats the only thing that ever happened to my 280XCF. Had to slow go it home a few miles when I lost my shifter. Other than that its been a great bike. Congrats on the new space!

Paint the ceilings white. You'll get a lot more light and the boredom of painting will make you find something to do on the bikes!

How about flush/bleed both brakes? Coolant flush? Service the powervalves? Refresh the forks/shock?

It looks like you need a dualsport or adventure bike added to the mix. Or a nice sport touring rig.

Haha, yea, there is an upstairs to the garage that needs to be framed in, insulated, and finished. With that project will come insulation and a finished ceiling for the garage area. I'm hoping to work on that one once the weather breaks. good idea for sure though!

Solid ideas. I had the cylinder ported and head machined at towards the end of the summer, so the kips have been serviced and it got new coolant (will be replaced again when I do the shifter change lol)... only had 2 or 3 rides in since then, so should be good on that front. Good idea on the brakes, I think I will do that, simple enough. Forks/shock...never tried messing with those myself, was thinking about sending back to the suspension builder...but maybe I should look at changing the fluids myself. Thanks for the ideas!

Yea, I recently sold my KDX dualsport because I never had anyone to ride with... but am starting to reconsider...might end up throwing the dirt wheels on the KTM and try it out in the woods... just don't want to get it dirty having the ability to ride down the road, then go off wherever you want is pretty awesome...missing it already.

For the next project, I'm really leaning towards some type of cruiser/touring bike that I can take the girlfriend out on, you know, something with a decent seat and passenger pegs...she isn't too thrilled with riding on the back of a dirt bike women! I'm just keeping my eye open for something fun and cheap to come up for sale locally. We shall see...

I can certainly recommend a Kawasaki Concours. They can be found for well under $3000 and are a great bike. I think they’re one of the best values in motorcycling. Very reliable, strong aftermarket support, and great performance. My 2004 model has been a real jewel. I’ve had a lot of fun trips on it.
