Yz125 shock body on kdx

Yz125 shock body on kdx
I'm back in Australia and under 14 day quarantine so thought I would toy with the idea of putting a 2002 Yz125 shock on my Kdx220. After pulling it apart and inspecting the internals they really look identical to what the kdx already has. So now my thoughts have changed to just using the YZ shock body which has low and high speed compression adjustment and sliding in the kdx shock shaft as shock bodies look to be identical. Can anybody see any flaws with what I will do. YZ has a 16mm shaft and the kdx is 14mm and trying to get the lower shock mount fitted seems like too much trouble

Not sure of the technical name but as you can see the lower mount point/clevis is completely different. There's a possibility I could modify the kdx clevis to fit the 16mm YZ shaft but it seems like quite a bit of work and even then I don't know if the rebound damper rod would be the right length. Its a bit of a pain that the kdx shock is in Thailand and the YZ shock is in Australia so unable to take side by side photos

KDX 44 mm body, 44 x 14 seal head
if you bought a 46 x 14 seal head, you are still going to have a taller body with a shorter rod.
That equals taller shock. The geometry will change.

The clevis can be used from another bike as long as it fits the shock shaft. I have an '01-'06 RM125 shock on my '98 KDX. I only measured the outside of the shock bodies, both measured about 53.4mm if the seal head diameters are different then my idea won't work and then back to using the 16mm YZ shaft and as stated possibly an rm clevis but starting to sound like too much work given all I do is slow technical single track
